Empowering Mental Health Support

The power of connection in adversity lies in fostering resilience, support, and a sense of purpose during difficult times. Strong relationships provide emotional and practical help, offer different perspectives, and act as an "anchor" to help individuals navigate challenges and avoid feeling isolated.

Teens (12-17) | Adults (18+)
We offer individual counseling services that are tailored to your specific needs. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, or relationship issues, we're here to support you.

Family dynamics can be complex and challenging. Our family counseling services are here to help you navigate through the challenges and build stronger relationships. We work with families of all sizes and backgrounds to help them communicate better, resolve conflicts, and build stronger bonds.

Group therapy can be a powerful way to connect with others who are going through similar challenges. Our group therapy sessions provide a safe and supportive environment where you can share your experiences and learn from others. We offer a variety of group therapy services to meet your needs.

We understand that life can be busy and it's not always easy to make it to in-person therapy sessions. That's why we offer teletherapy services that allow you to connect from the comfort of your own home. Our teletherapy sessions are secure, private, and convenient.

We are passionate and committed to supporting the developing skills, confidence, and well-being of helping professionals through clinical supervision and specialised training. This involves providing mentorship, guidance, and support to professionals within the health and community sectors, helping them navigate complex challenges, prevent burnout, and enhance the quality and ethics of their practice.

Supporting children and young people to feel safe, understood, and able to express themselves is at the heart of my practice. My approach is playful, trauma-informed, and evidence-based, helping children build confidence, resilience, and coping skills through connection and collaboration.
I integrate developmental, cognitive-behavioural, and family systems approaches, working closely with parents and schools to ensure consistent strategies across home and learning environments, supporting sustained emotional and functional outcomes.
My practice is grounded in a neuroaffirming approach, recognising neurological diversity as a natural part of human variation. I work with children, adolescents, and families to understand individual strengths, support challenges, and create environments that honour sensory, cognitive, and emotional needs. Rather than aiming to change a person’s way of being, interventions focus on fostering self-understanding, regulation, and meaningful participation across home, school, and community settings.
I provide an affirming and inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ children, adolescents, and adults to explore identity, relationships, and wellbeing. My practice acknowledges the impact of stigma and minority stress while centring safety, authenticity, and self-determination. Using evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches, I support clients to build resilience, strengthen identity, and navigate personal and social challenges within affirming frameworks.
My work is grounded in a trauma-informed framework that recognises the impact of adversity and stress on emotional, cognitive, and relational functioning. I prioritise safety, trust, and collaboration in all therapeutic interactions, supporting clients to build regulation, resilience, and a sense of empowerment. Interventions are guided by an understanding of the nervous system, attachment, and the ways trauma can influence development and daily life.
Mindfulness-based approaches are integrated throughout therapy to help clients cultivate awareness, presence, and self-compassion. These techniques support children, adolescents, and adults to observe thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations without judgment, enhancing emotional regulation, resilience, and adaptive coping skills. By cultivating presence, clients learn to respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively, strengthen relationships, and navigate challenges with greater clarity and calm.
I am committed to continuous learning and cultivating a growth mindset, both personally and professionally. I believe that meaningful change arises from curiosity, reflection, and openness to new perspectives. This commitment informs my practice, ensuring that I stay informed of emerging evidence, refine therapeutic approaches, and remain responsive to the unique needs of each client. By modelling and embracing personal growth, I aim to inspire clients to explore their potential, build resilience, and approach challenges with confidence and adaptability.

Do I need a referral to book?
To request an appointment, a referral is not required. If you wish to access a Medicare rebate for sessions, you will need a referral and care plan that specifies which services you are eligible for (such as a Mental Health Care Plan) from your GP or paediatrician.
If you wish to access a rebate with your Private Health Fund, please note that we do not facilitate HICAPs rebates on-site, and private session fees will apply. Prior to booking, we recommend checking in with your Health Fund prior to your appointment regarding rebates and eligibility.
Our initial appointments involve a collaborative discussion to gather important background information, discuss any presenting concerns, providing an opportunity to work together to form future session goals.
A typical counseling session lasts for 50-60 minutes, although some sessions may be longer or shorter depending on your needs and preferences.
The support offered extends beyond a counseling session. Our commitment to high standards of person- centred care is reflected in our efforts preparing, documenting, and collaborating with you.
Inpresence Counseling can help with a wide range of challenges, including:
An Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) is a highly trained mental health professional, accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), who uses a holistic, evidence-based approach to provide assessment and therapy for mental health conditions. They blend specialist clinical skills with a deep understanding of social, cultural, and environmental factors, allowing them to address the complex issues that impact a person's wellbeing. AMHSWs are recognized by the Australian Government as Medicare providers, enabling access to subsidized services for clients with diagnosable mental health conditions
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we require a minimum of two (2) clear business days' notice (approximately 48-hours). This enables us to offer the space to clients who may be in need of an urgent appointment.
Please note, if you do not show for an appointment, or cancel within two (2) business days (48 hours), a cancellation fee will incur. Please ask our team about our Telehealth or report writing services if you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment on the day.
To access a Medicare rebate, you will require a Mental Health Care Plan, or an Enhanced Primary Care Plan. You can visit your regular GP, or if you don't have a doctor you normally see, any GP can create a care plan for you.
If you planning to access funding through Medicare, NDIS, or a Health Fund, you are only able to utilize one form of funding per service.
At Inpresence Counseling we are passionate about providing services for those who need them, when they need them. Please speak with our team if financial hardship is a barrier for ongoing support.
Clinicians at Inpresence Counseling are registered with a number of services and programs which may offer an alternative pathway to support aside from Medicare rebate, or paying the full costs of counseling
